DuraHook Metal Pegboard Anchor

DuraHook Metal Pegboard Anchor with Hook

Description

These anchors are specifically designed to use with DuraHook Locking pegboard hooks in Metal pegboard. DuraHook hooks use a tab and screw to securely mount to pegboard so they don’t come off the pegboard like regular hooks. The problem is that while the screws provided can work with metal pegboard, many times they just spin and don’t grab, or if they do, they only grab with one thread and can be pulled out.

Like my Pegboard Screw Anchors, these anchors pop into the holes on the pegboard to provide the screw with more gripping force without rotating as you drive the screw. These are just specialized versions with a hole instead of an anchor point.

DuraHook Metal Pegboard Anchor with #8 Screw and Washer

I printed and tested these anchors in PET-G. I suspect PLA, ABS, Nylon, and flexible filaments would also work, but you need to have your printer dialed in pretty well. These anchors depend on pretty strong interlayer bonding.

While you can use the 1/8″ pegboard screws that come with the DuraHook accessories, I wouldn’t recommend it because it basically destroys the anchor because they are too big. I would recommend using #8 screws with a washer.

Bonus Tip: Slightly bend the tab on the bottom of the DuraHook forward so that it rests more firmly against the back of the pegboard. They aren’t setup for the thin metal out of the box, so they don’t touch the back and provide more stability like they do in thicker pegboard.
