Milwaukee Packout Compact Organizer Handle Labeling System

Milwaukee Packout Compact Handle with Label

Description

This is a replacement handle for the Milwaukee compact organizer that accepts an interchangeable label. The handle works the same way as the original handle — it locks in both the folded and extended positions. The label slides into a dovetailed groove on top of the handle from the left side.

I’ve provided an STL for the handle and for 5 different labels. If you want other labels you need to edit the model in openSCAD. I have some generic instructions on how to do that here.

Files

Printer: Prusa i3 MK3
Slicer: PrusaSlicer
Material: Inland PET-G
Resolution: 0.3 mm with a 0.4mm nozzle
Wall Lines/Perimeters: 3
Supports: On build plate
Infill: Minimum 20% Gyroid. The higher infill percentage the stronger the part.
Notes: With these minimum strength settings print time is about 4.25 hours. I’d probably recommend 4 to 5 perimeters with at least 25% infill for more rugged use. Labels can be printed with fewer perimeters and less infill.

To remove the original handles use a flathead screwdriver between the outside of the hinge and the case to push the metal pin towards the center. Then use a pliers to pull the pin the rest of the way out of the hinge. Once you pull the pins for each side the handle should fall off.

To put the new handle on, position the handle so that the hinges line up and push the pins back in.

The labels slide into the handle from the left. If they are too loose you can use a spot of glue on the right side to hold them in place.

    1. Yes, I had plans for both the larger organizer handle and the toolbox handles, but I don’t have the time to develop them right now.

Everything is proportioned differently. It’s not just a matter of scaling or stretching the handle. For instance the hinge finger proportions are completely different for each handle.

  1. Thanks for this! There’s a file naming error within “Compact Packout Organizer Handle Labels.zip”. For “Compact Packout Organizer Bits and Accessories.stl” it’s a duplicate of “OMT and Accessories”
